US Dollar Hits New Record
Low Against Euro

The US dollar declined against its major counterparts in early
deals on Thursday, hitting a fresh record low against the euro.
Against its other major counterparts, the dollar weakened to new
multi-day low during this time period.
The US trade balance, initial jobless and continuing claims are
the major economic events slated for release later in New York
morning.
The US dollar plummeted to new record low of 1.5915 against the
euro at about 5:10 am ET Thursday, compared to yesterday's closing
value of 1.5832.

The European Central Bank is scheduled to announce its monetary
policy decision today. Analysts expect the central bank to maintain
its 4% lending rate amid concerns about inflation.
At about 3:00 am Eastern Time Thursday, the US dollar lost ground
against the pound. The dollar weakened to 2-day low of 1.9838
against the pound from 1.9725 by about 5:15 am ET. The pound-dollar
pair closed Wednesday's New York session deals at 1.9764.
Latest report from the Office for National Statistics revealed
that UK's trade deficit in goods and services narrowed to GBP4.4
billion in February from a revised deficit of GBP5 billion in
January. Economists had predicted a deficit of GBP4.2 billion.
