US attack on Iran is suicide

Former President Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani says that if the US dars to launch any military attack on Iran it would be regarded as a suicide.

In an exclusive interview with Arabia TV channels on Friday, Chairman of the Expediency Council (EC) Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said the issue is now regarded as a psychological warfare and there is no doubt that the role of UNSC would be highlighted but there are lots of concerns on to what extend such measures would bear fruits.

"We are now dealing with various threats and challenges but we believe that our past experiences could be called upon and force the enemies lose courage to target us, as we have always proved that we are capable enough to thwarts plots hatched by the enemies," he said.

Some believe that the US current problems in Iraq and Afghanistan could be a source of concern for Iran, asked the reporter.

Based on historical experiences, when bullying powers would be trapped in quagmire they might take illogical measures to survive themselves, Rafsanjani said.

"I believe that the US and UK and their aliens are now experiencing a tough time in Iraq and Afghanistan and seek to find a way out of the mishap," he said.

There is no doubt that such suicide measure would create problems for both sides but they would be the final loser while their measures would leave devastating consequences on the whole region, he said.

Some Arabs raised the question that in case the US targets Iran's nuclear facilities, what would be Iran's response, asked the reporter.

There is no doubt that Iran has various options and plans on the table to give a crushing response to such an attack, he said.
