According to Efraim Halevy, former Mossad boss, we are astride
World War Three, or as the neocons call it, World War Four, and
don’t know it.
“The world does not understand. A person walks through
the streets of Tel Aviv, Barcelona or Buenos Aires and doesn’t
get the sense that there is a war going on,” Halevy told
Yedioth Internet.
Of course, this is because the supposed world war, as hyped by
neocons and Israeli Likudniks, is primarily a crass propaganda
contrivance, not an actual war—except for Iraqis, Palestinians,
Lebanese, and soon enough Iranians.
“During World War I and II the entire world felt there
was a war. Today no one is conscious of it. From time to time
there is a terrorist attack in Madrid, London and New York and
then everything stays the same,” Halevy continues.
Obviously, this state of affairs, this ability to ignore wars
in faraway lands, is unacceptable, as peace at home usually infuriates
warmongers and psychopaths. In order to violently jerk people
out of their slumber, “Islamic militants” will need
accomplish a “nuclear strike” in one of the above
mentioned cities, never mind said extremists are not in possession
of nuclear weapons and, if the experience of Iran is any indication,
they won’t for many years to come.
Of course, in order to shunt aside this factual roadblock and
get the argument back on track, Efraim Halevy tells us an Islamic
nuclear attack “doesn’t have to be something very
sophisticated, It doesn’t have to be the latest nuclear
technology, it can be something simple like a dirty bomb which
instead of killing millions only kills tens of thousands.”
In fact, the sort of “dirty bomb” envisioned by Mr.
Halevy wouldn’t kill “tens of thousands,” although
“residents of an area of about five city blocks …
would have a one-in-a-thousand chance of getting cancer. A swath
about one mile long covering an area of forty city blocks would
exceed EPA contamination limits, with remaining residents having
a one-in-ten thousand chance of getting cancer,” according
to the Federation of American Scientists.
And that’s the worse case scenario. “The most likely
radioactive element in a dirty bomb is cesium-137, according to
Phil Anderson, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and
International Studies,” Wired reported in 2002. “Fortunately,
the body is used to processing these kind of chemicals, and excretes
half of the cesium it absorbs within 100 days…. But the
absorbed cesium ‘would nevertheless cause a radiation dose,
potentially increasing the risk for cancer,’” Fritz
Steinhausler, who led the International Atomic Energy Agency’s
environmental assessment of the disaster at Chernobyl, told the
magazine.
Instead, reports of a “dirty bomb” explosion, according
to professor William Martel of the Naval War College, would “create
huge amounts of terror, havoc, and panic,” precisely the
sort of reaction Halevy, the Likudniks, and the neocons desire,
that is if they are to keep the juice of their phony “war
on terror,” i.e., war against Muslims and Arabs, going for
another 25 or more years, as promised.
Recall, back in 2003, the hysteria over “dirty bombs”
was at such an absurd level, thanks to incessant media hype, Bob
Elder, chairman of the constables’ central committee in
Britain, told the media police “could be forced to shoot
members of the public to maintain order in the event of a terrorist
‘dirty bomb’ or biological attack…. to stop
contamination being spread by fleeing victims,” never mind
there would be no such contamination.
Even the neocon Rocco DiPippo, one of David Horowitz’s
minions, admits that “the dirty bomb is a dream weapon for
terrorists—it has the ability to cause maximum psychological
terror for a small investment in time and materials. It is also
in keeping with what, so far, has been the Islamist’s affinity
for parlaying the use of low-tech objects and devices into maximum
psychological terror…. It is reasonable to assume that some
of this material has ended up in the hands of Islamists, who have
a long history of attempting to procure it.”
Reasonable or not, DiPippo does not explain why, as we close
in on the sixth anniversary of September 11, 2001, this “psychological
terror” weapon has yet to be employed. Is it possible the
terrorists are working in slow motion and that is why it will
take a generation or more, as Halevy, Cheney, and neocons far
and wide promise, for the “Islamist” scourge top be
defeated? In the meantime, of course, no small number of “Islamist”
nations will be invaded, subjected to the U.S. version of dirty
bombs, namely depleted uranium, already producing birth defects,
cancer, and illness in not only Iraqis, Afghans, Serbs, and soon
enough Iranians, but our own soldiers as well.
Of course, it is difficult to take guys like DiPippo serious,
as they are addicted to ridiculous neologisms, such as the word
“Islamist,” “Islamism,” and my personal
favorite, “Islamofascism.”
But anyway, Efraim Halevy’s curious observation that we
are walking around, oblivious to Word War Four, is yet another
indication the Zionist war drums are beating more furiously as
the crosshairs are drawn on Iran, even though most of us cannot
hear them. Such cheesy propaganda, designed to scare old ladies
and sickly children, will increase in ferocity, especially now
that Iran will cooperate with the International Atomic Energy
Agency, a turn that has thrown a bucket of cold water on the drive
to attack Iran.
Expect more fantasies and hysteria straight ahead.
