I was surprised to discover recently that Kansas had a gun-confiscation incident following the F5 tornado that hit Greensburg Kansas on May 4, 2007 that was reminiscent of the one in New Orleans after Katrina. I received an email from Patricia Stoneking of Target Master Shooting Academy alerting people to a hearing on HB 2811 in Kansas. This bill attempts to limit the power of the Governor during a state of emergency in Kansas to prohibit the confiscation of guns.

I decided to attend the hearing to show support for the bill. The hearing was very sparsely attended. Here’s the report from Patricia Stoneking about what happened in Greensburg. She was very upset about what she discovered talking to people from Greensburg prior to the hearing. It’s a real wakeup call!
